A compacted bale of recycled plastic bottlesWe'd like to say thank you to all who have been keeping up to date with recycling. Following this section, you'll find two links to recycling articles recently written by Betty Lin-Fisher of the Akron Beacon Journal:

Focus on What Is Recyclable

As a reminder, the most important thing we can all do currently is to focus on what is recyclable. Getting the materials that are easily recoverable at recycling facilities (i.e. Material Recovery Facilities also known as MRFs) is the single most important thing we can all do as recyclers.

We do understand the frustration that many of you feel; it just feels so wrong to throw an item out. But if there is currently no market for that material an item is made from, and if that item gets to the MRF, two things can happen. One, it would eventually be thrown out. Two and worse, that item could find its way into another material and contaminate it.

Again, we thank you for taking the time to keep up to date with recycling!
