Scrap Tire Recycling
Tires are recyclable and are used to make many products, from roads to sandals. To recycle your used tires, bring them to ReWorks’ Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC) during regular hours of operation.
Tires are accepted at the HHWRC for a CASH ONLY fee. $1.00 per tire Passenger and Light Truck only — on or off the rim. There is a limit of 10 tires per vehicle.
The HHW Recycling Center, located at 1201 Graham Rd in Stow, is open for the 2018 season every Thursday beginning June 7 through September 27. Hours of operation are Thursdays between 2:00 PM - 7:00 p.m. For more information on the HHWRC and a complete list of acceptable items, go here.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, there are after markets for more than 80.4% of scrap tires collected in the United States. These markets include tire-derived fuel, civil engineering applications, and ground rubber applications such as rubberized asphalt
